We are thrilled to welcome Chris and Annette Janes to our dealer network. Chris and Annette head up Marine One, based at Westhaven Marina, Auckland.
Chris has over 30 years’ marine industry experience and is proud to be the authorised New Zealand Agent for Whitehaven Luxury Motor Yachts, Aquila Power Catamarans and Integrity Motor Yachts.
Growing up as a child on the water, diving, jet skiing, fishing and owning boats, Chris always had a passion for the ocean, and he definitely still does now.
During a long career in the motor vehicle industry, running a dealership, Chris took regular trips to Japan buying cars. On his days off he would walk the marinas, which ignited his passion for a career in the marine Industry.
Chris has worked with some of the major boat brands in New Zealand including Riviera, Maritimo and Fountaine Pajot sailing and power Catamarans. Chris was involved for several years in New Zealand’s biggest vessel syndication and brokerage company, and he and his business partner became the Number One selling Maritimo Dealer for 2021.
His experience with Fountaine Pajot Sailing and Power Catamarans has been a huge advantage to his career. As a result of this experience, Chris decided that it was time to take on his own venture and to set up a more customer and service-based company, hence Marine One was formed. The business offers new and used brokerage boats, backed by a full maintenance department.
After several months of travel back and forth to Australia he secured a New Zealand Authorised Dealership with Whitehaven Motor yachts, Aquila Power Catamarans and Integrity Motor Yachts.
Speaking from his new dealership office while preparing for the commissioning of a new Aquila A44 for delivery to excited owners in Gulf Harbour, Chris said “Over the years, I learned that the customer is the most important person in the equation.
“From customer feedback, I found that service and support are crucial. It’s not enough to sell a boat, you have to be 100 percent customer focused and that is why the Whitehaven Group appealed to us.”
Chris is extremely proud of his new brands that are built to the highest of standards, with full support and backup from the manufacturer.
“The quality of the vessels is second to none, the build quality is a mile above competitors, and customer service is the main priority. I have built my business on that. Boaties all over New Zealand know us and trust us for our commitment to their boating needs.”
